On 6th June, the academic conference of “100-city Obstetrics and Gynecology Series” supported by Kangji Medical was successfully held at Shangri-La Hotel in Wenzhou. Academician Dr. Lang Jinghe from Peking Union Medical College Hospital served as the honorary chairman of the conference. The conference brought together many OBGYN expert scholars to give speeches on various topics and deliver 4K live-broadcast of surgery demonstration.

Opening
Dr. Lang Jinghe (the Honorary Chairman of the Conference), Lv Yijun (the Party Secretary of Wenzhou Medical University), Pan Jingye (the President of Wenzhou Medical University Affiliated First Hospital) and Professor Zhu Lan (the Chairman of the Conference) have given the opening remarks.

Dr. Lang Jinghe pointed out at the meeting that this year is the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, the 100th anniversary of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, and the 120th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Lin Qiaozhi. It is of great significance to carry out the “100-city Obstetrics and Gynecology Series” at this point of time. This is a wonderful form of academic communication and exchanges across hospitals and regions. I am hoping to explore various development possibilities in the field of obstetrics and gynecology with more colleagues and compose “new songs” for the industry. Starting from today in Wenzhou with our hope, I wish “100-city Series” event a great success!

Lv Yijun, Party Secretary of Wenzhou Medical University, on behalf of Wenzhou Medical University, expressed his congratulations to the opening of the conference, and extended a warm welcome to all the leaders, guests, experts, professors and colleagues who attended the conference. He pointed out that this conference has built a higher and broader academic exchange platform for many gynecological colleagues. He believed that the participants would have the opportunity to broaden their horizons through this conference, further improve the overall professional skills in gynecology, and provide higher-quality, more efficient and safer medical services to the female patients in Wenzhou and the regions nearby.

Pan Jingye, President of First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, gave a brief introduction about the development of the hospital, especially the features and advanced techniques developed in OBGYN. He said that it is both a great honor and a great responsibility for him that Dr. Lang Jinghe and his team set the first stop and the launching ceremony of the conference series at the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. He hoped everyone can treasure this opportunity to study and exchange, learn more from Dr. Lang Jinghe and other expert scholars, and contribute to the improvement of the professional standards of gynecology.

Main Speeches
Dr. Lang Jinghe made a made sharing on the subject of “The Situation and Mission of Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control”, presenting the revolutionary changes in the process of cervical cancer prevention and control and the arduous mission currently faced. He emphasized the need to proactively respond to WHO’s advocacy for the elimination of cervical cancer worldwide, thereby reducing the incidence of cervical cancer.

Professor Zhu Lan gave a lecture on the subject of “Progress in Diagnosis and Treatment of Obstructive Reproductive Tract Malformation”, explained the characteristics of rare clinical obstructive reproductive tract malformation diseases in detail, on top of that, she also shared the treatment strategies and development.

Professor Leng Jinhua delivered a speech on the subject of “New Concept of Diagnosis and Treatment of Endometriosis” coupling with a surgery demonstration video of complex pelvic endometriosis that explained the surgical skills for different types of endometriosis.

Professor Zhang Junji shared the “Application of Single-port Laparoscopic Procedure in Gynecological Surgery”. He delivered a comprehensive introduction, with the sharing of his experience in gynecological single-port laparoscopic surgery, on the characteristics, difficulties, advantages, techniques, limitations, and other aspects of single-port laparoscopic surgery.

To begin with the introduction of a video about the ovarian cancer surgery performed by Dr. Lang Jinghe 30 years ago, Professor Wang Tao delivered a speech on the subject of “Preoperative Evaluation and Surgical Strategy of Advanced Ovarian Epithelial Cancer”. He pointed out the importance of adequate preoperative evaluation and a multidisciplinary team formation and collaboration for advanced ovarian cancer. He also emphasized the importance of choosing the timing of surgery, keeping in mind the surgical approach from the periphery to the center, from the easier part to the more difficult one, and the entirety concept.

In the conference, Professor Hu Yan from the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (the conference in-charge) passed the event flag to Academician Dr. Lang Jinghe (the honorary chairman of the conference) who in turn passed the flag to the next conference in-charge, Professor Liu Chang from the First Hospital of Lanzhou University.
